November, the month of my birthday, brought about a thrilling opportunity to celebrate in a place far from home – Lisbon, Portugal. This year, I had a strong desire to spend my 25th birthday somewhere special, and the universe seemed to align perfectly. Pedro’s family was staying in Portugal for a few months, making it the ideal chance to reunite with them and create unforgettable memories together.

Where We Stayed:

Our accommodation in Cascais was an enchanting Airbnb that exceeded all our expectations. The spacious layout and the presence of a delightful swimming pool added a touch of luxury to our stay. Cascais’ strategic location near Lisbon, as well as its proximity to Oeiras and Sintra, allowed us to explore various charming cities during our trip.

Culinary Delights:

Two exceptional restaurants captured our hearts and taste buds during our Portuguese journey. “Pasteis de Belem” in the historic district of Belem, Lisbon, offered a traditional setting and served the most delectable breakfast. To secure a good table, we arrived early to savor the mouthwatering treats enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

For those with a penchant for succulent meats, “Entreposto Assados” in Cascais presented a memorable birthday dinner for me and Pedro. The warm and welcoming staff made our dining experience even more special, and I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert from the owner.

Must-Visit Places:

Our sightseeing adventure took us to some of the most iconic locations in Lisbon and Cascais. The magnificent bridge, the Christ statue, and the mesmerizing Boca do Inferno provided us with breathtaking views and unforgettable sunsets. Exploring the charming churches and the city’s panoramic viewpoints became even more delightful when we opted for a tuktuk tour guided by Pedro’s cousin, who shared fascinating historical insights.

Weather and Poolside Bliss:

November in Portugal offered pleasant weather, though the coastal breeze brought a touch of chill. We found ourselves buying additional layers to keep warm, especially as we relaxed by the pool for a refreshing morning swim. The poolside moments allowed us to soak in the sun and embrace the joy of being surrounded by family.

Capturing Precious Moments:

The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the quality time spent with Pedro’s family. The love, laughter, and genuine camaraderie made every moment cherished and worth remembering. We took numerous photos to freeze these precious moments in time, and I’ve shared some of my favorite captures on my Instagram.

Conclusion:

As I bid farewell to Lisbon and Cascais, I reflect on the incredible birthday adventure that brought us together with Pedro’s family. Exploring the picturesque cities, savoring mouthwatering dishes, and sharing joyous moments created a lifetime of memories. This unforgettable experience taught me the value of family and how the universe conspires to fulfill our wishes. Portugal will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the memories we created during this enchanting journey.
